Project Overview

SE3K is the brand identity for an anonymous DJ, focusing on creating a mysterious and intriguing persona. The project aimed to design a logo and branding elements that played with the idea of a hidden identity while still being easily recognizable in the music industry. The client wanted to create a brand that was simple yet impactful, with a strong emphasis on anonymity and a dark, grunge aesthetic. The scope of the project included logo design, branding, mask design, and a photoshoot for press and promotional materials.

Client Brief

The client requested a branding that emphasized anonymity and the mysterious nature of the DJ persona, with a dark, grunge aesthetic. They wanted a logo that was simple yet memorable, with a design that would align with their masked, secretive identity. In addition to the logo, the client requested a photoshoot to support the branding and press materials, further reflecting the dark, edgy vibe.

Ideation

To play with the theme of hidden identity, we created the name SE3K, pronounced as “SEEK,” symbolizing the act of searching or looking for something. The logo was designed with a twist—by integrating the letter "E" and its inverted form, which also resembled the number "3." This design concept was carried over into the mask we created to further reinforce the branding, making the entire identity cohesive and visually striking. The dark grunge aesthetic was incorporated into the overall design, including the photoshoot styling.

Execution

The logo is simple yet effective, using the inverted "E" to resemble the number "3," which subtly ties into the name SE3K. The clean, modern typography complements the mysterious, anonymous vibe. The mask design incorporated this same iconography, ensuring the branding remained consistent across all elements. The photoshoot followed the dark, grunge aesthetic, with styling and imagery that aligned with the brand’s edgy and mysterious persona.

Result

The final deliverables included the logo, mask design, photoshoot images, and brand guidelines. The client was pleased with how the branding successfully conveyed the mysterious, anonymous identity of SE3K, with the dark grunge aesthetic and photoshoot further enhancing the brand’s appeal and creating a memorable presence in the music scene.
